Michael Best Strategies expands its healthcare team with the addition of Kristine Seymour as partner.

Kristine Seymour has more than 25 years of healthcare insurance and legal experience. She works with healthcare clients to optimize their business strategy, evaluate potential mergers and expansions, and discover alternate distribution and product strategies. Seymour has strong relationships in the Midwest and nationally in the healthcare industry.

Seymour’s work will focus on how to differentiate Michael Best Strategies’ clients through the products and services they offer in a highly competitive marketplace, as well as help lay the groundwork to deliver effective healthcare solutions to consumers and employers.

Seymour was previously the regional vice president of market development in Humana’s commercial markets, overseeing the strategy for employer group, wellness, and specialty benefit offerings in Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. As part of her role, Seymour focused on driving down medical trend costs through innovative community partnerships, including working with providers on value-based arrangements.

Prior to joining Humana, she served as executive vice president of the employee benefit group at Milwaukee insurance consultant, Willis, formerly known as HRH and Frank F. Haack & Associates. Prior to that, she led sales, operations, underwriting, product development, and compliance for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wisconsin. She holds a law degree from Marquette University Law School, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, also from Marquette University.

Seymour has served on numerous boards including Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, Rogers Behavioral Health System, and Town Bank. She has mentored area youth through an entrepreneurship class being offered through University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the New Berlin School District. Seymour is married and lives in New Berlin, Wisconsin. She has two daughters in college and is an avid competitor who shows American Eskimo Dogs in American Kennel Club sanctioned events.
