Margaret served Congressman Mark Pocan as his first casework manager in his district office. She helped establish the congressman’s constituent casework operation, and had a robust portfolio including military and veterans affairs, environmental and energy issues, foreign affairs and immigration casework. Margaret achieved numerous successful outcomes for the congressman and his constituents, several of which were highlighted in various local, state, and national media outlets.
Margaret’s Expertise: Immigration, Military Affairs, Agriculture, Education, Energy, and Environment
Before joining Michael Best Strategies, Margaret worked in development and alumni relations for the University of Wisconsin Foundation and Wisconsin Alumni Association. She served the Dean of the College of Agricultural & Life Sciences, working with their Board of Visitors, donors, and Wisconsin’s agri-business sector. In 2017, Margaret was part of UW-Madison’s advocacy delegation to Washington, D.C. and helped execute and staff the UW’s first national lobby day. She is a proven relationship builder, and has strong understanding of where advocacy and government intersect. Margaret is pursuing a Master of Public Administration at American University in Washington, D.C. She graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. She spent two semesters living and studying abroad in Central America and West Africa, and she is fluent in Spanish.
