Chelsi Jones

Overview

Chelsi brings a strong foundation in public policy, communications, and community engagement. With experience in state government, higher education, and nonprofit sectors, she supports clients by offering insights into legislative processes, strategic communications, and stakeholder engagement.

Before joining Michael Best Strategies, Chelsi served as a communications specialist in the Illinois State Senate where she developed policy briefs, speeches, press materials, and digital content focused on advancing legislative priorities. She also worked as a grant coordinator at Richland Community College, where she led successful funding strategies and built partnerships with community and institutional stakeholders. Earlier in her career, Chelsi was a Community Engagement Specialist at Baby TALK, spearheading outreach initiatives to support early childhood education and family services.

Chelsi’s policy experience began at the Illinois Department of Transportation, where she contributed to policy development and compliance tracking as a policy administration intern.
