Matt brings more than two decades of government affairs and lobbying experience at the local, state, and federal levels. He has deep experience in highly regulated industries, including food and beverage and financial services, and a track record of shaping public policy through coalition building, legislative strategy, and stakeholder engagement.

Before joining Strategies, Matt was the senior director of regional government relations at Molson Coors Beverage Company, where he oversaw lobbying efforts across nine states and major municipalities, including Milwaukee and Chicago. In this role, he served as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, guiding advocacy strategies with key elected officials and regulatory bodies for the global beverage brand.

His accomplishments at Molson Coors Beverage Company include securing a $32 million Wisconsin Economic Corporation Development grant for adding hundreds of jobs to the Wisconsin Molson Coors workforce, leading efforts to update the alcohol laws (Chapter 125) and regulatory environment in Wisconsin, and blocking a proposed beverage tax increase in Chicago.

Earlier in his career, Matt led the government relations department at PLS Financial Services as director of government relations, where he advocated for regulatory changes across 11 states and secured access to new markets through legislative and zoning wins. He also held positions at WJ Weiser and Associates and the College Board and served in public-sector roles with the City of Evanston, where he managed intergovernmental affairs, and in the Wisconsin State Senate and State Senate Democratic Committee, where he helped drive legislative strategy and campaign victories.
